Drugs seized; man charged in South Nowra

A man has been charged after drugs were seized on the state’s South Coast yesterday.

About 7am (Thursday 3 February 2022), officers attached to South Coast Police District’s Proactive Crime Team conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order search on an industrial unit on the Princes Highway at South Nowra.

Police spoke with an occupant – a 29-year-old man – before conducting a search of the unit and a white Holden Colorado utility located inside.

During the search, police located more than 500 MDMA tablets, drug paraphernalia, mobile phones and cash. The items were seized for further forensic investigation.

The man was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drugs – greater than commercial quantity, deal with the proceeds of crime, and possess prohibited drug.

He appeared at Nowra Local Court today (Friday 4 February 2022), where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on Tuesday 5 April 2022.
