East Point mangrove boardwalk and Mindil Beach accesses temporarily closed

Darwin City Council

For the safety of the public, the East Point mangrove boardwalk is currently closed due to storm damage. The closure extends approximately 50 meters from the Rock Sitters Club and will be in effect until weather conditions improve, allowing for a thorough assessment and necessary repairs.

We kindly request all visitors to adhere to posted signs and follow instructions, especially exercising caution near cliff edges, as recent weather events may have caused potential instability. Please be aware that debris, such as branches, rocks, and soil, may be present on roads and cycle paths.

Furthermore, the four beach accesses at Mindil Beach are temporarily closed due to significant erosion resulting from adverse weather conditions. These areas are presently deemed unsafe for public use.
