Embona Taskforce and Moreland detectives kick goals in Melbourne’s North West

Fawkner Embona Taskforce and Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged three men following a robbery and an armed robbery in the Brunswick West area earlier this week.

Both incidents occurred on 19 April, with the robbery taking place at a liquor outlet on Union Street just after 7pm.

It is alleged that the three men, two aged 19 years and one aged 18, entered the store and allegedly threatened staff before stealing alcohol and cigarettes.

Later in the evening, around 10pm, the same three offenders allegedly committed an armed robbery at a supermarket on Albion Street where cigarettes and an amount of cash was stolen.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a Brunswick West address last night where the three men were arrested.

While at the address, police allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine, a weapon believed to have been used in the Albion Street robbery and property stolen from both the Albion Street and Union Street addresses.

The men have been charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft, attempted burglary, assault with a weapon and criminal damage.

The men were held overnight to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.
