Enhancing facilities at Deloraine Football Club

Mark Shelton,Liberal Member for Lyons

The Tasmanian Government is committed to increasing participation rates and levelling the playing field for all sporting codes.

We are continuing to provide significant support for community sporting clubs and organisations to meet the challenges of COVID-19 and to assist clubs as sporting competitions resumed around the state.

Today, I was pleased to be joined by members of the Deloraine Football Club to officially open the club’s new change room facilities.

Our Government was proud to provide $80,000 under the Levelling the Playing Field Grants program to assist the club in building female friendly change rooms, with female participation rates increasing at the club since the project was announced.

We have also provided $30,000 to the club for the installation of a scoreboard, lights and kitchen to enhance the clubs existing facility.

Since it was introduced in 2018, 33 projects have benefited from a total of $10 million in funding under the Levelling the Playing Field Grants Program.

Our Government recognises the benefits of Tasmanians leading healthy and active lifestyles, and we will continue working towards our goal for Tasmania to be the healthiest state by 2025.
