EPA lays charges for burning industrial waste

Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has laid one charge each against a company and an individual under the Environment Protection Act 1970 following a comprehensive investigation into the burning of a variety of industrial waste.

The company charged is R.J. & C.M. Earl Civil Mechanical Construction Pty Ltd (‘Earl Civil’).

The charges allege that the company and its Director permitted the discard of industrial waste, namely timber, by burning at 25 Cressy Rd, Winchelsea, which is a criminal offence under section 27A(2)(a) of the Environment Protection Act 1970.
