The Everlasting Kings Park Festival returns in 2022 to celebrate the amazing flora of Western Australia blossoming across the State and the thousands of wildflowers in full bloom across Kings Park and Bold Park.
International tourists and locals alike will discover a new side of these popular destinations with workshops, art exhibitions, walks, talks, demonstrations and wellness activities. For anyone interested in the State’s flora, the WA Botanic Garden provides a visual tasting plate to inspire travel to the many incredible parks and natural places throughout regional WA.
An exciting program of events has been organised by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority in partnership with volunteer organisations and commercial operators.
The Western Australian Botanic Garden is the starring attraction with displays of around 3,000 of WA’s 12,000 species of native flora including thousands of annuals lovingly planted by staff and volunteers. While beautiful in all seasons of the year, an explosion of flowers occurs in the Noongar season of Djilba – First Spring.
The Festival not only showcases Kings Park and Bold Park as visitor destinations but also their important role as a leader in WA plant conservation.
Festival workshops held by Kings Park staff and Friends of Kings Park volunteers will support visitors to grow native WA plants in home gardens for the benefit of our State’s ecosystem. Rare and unusual native plants will once more be available at the popular two-day Friends of Kings Park Native Plant Sale.
Aspects of Kings Park continues to support the talent of local Western Australian artists and the community. Art enthusiasts can meet local artists and admire the magnificent community woven and crocheted artwork at the gallery shop entryway.
