Extreme Weather – 8 August 2019

On Thursday 8 August 2019, we have been advised by the BOM to expect strong to damaging west to northwesterly winds averaging 50-70 km/h, with gusts of 90-110 km/h. This will be accompanied by rain and thunderstorms. The strongest winds and heaviest rain are likely from around midday to early evening.

Please ensure that your pets are secure and avoid parking underneath trees. Council staff will be ensuring that stormwater infrastructure is clear and working correctly. We will also be assisting emergency services with incident response, fallen branches and road closures as required.
