Territory’s largest shopping centre, Casuarina Square, unveils new $90m dining and entertainment precinct.
Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro officially opens Cas Lane, saying it is a great new destination for people to enjoy the unique Territory lifestyle.
Fully enclosed, air-conditioned precinct has been designed as an all-weather destination, bringing food, entertainment and social experiences together in one convenient location.
The Territory’s largest shopping centre, Casuarina Square, has unveiled a new $90 million dining and entertainment precinct, giving Territorians more reasons to shop, eat and spend time together.
Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro will officially open Cas Lane at Casuarina Square today, describing it as a welcome new destination for families, friends and visitors to enjoy dining, entertainment and social experiences under one roof.
The new precinct developed by the Sentinel Property Group features a range of dining options and family entertainment, including Grill’d, Kickin’ Inn, Yo-Chi and iPlay, which will bring arcade games, bumper cars and interactive challenge rooms to the Territory.
The Chief Minister said the opening of Cas Lane was a positive sign of continued private investment in the Territory and confidence in Darwin’s future.
“Cas Lane is a great addition to Darwin and another reason for Territorians to get out, enjoy themselves and support local businesses,” the Chief Minister said.
“I congratulate the Sentinel Property Group and its CEO Warren Ebert for having the vision to take an already important shopping centre – an important community asset – and make it something even better for the community to enjoy.
“Cas Lane delivers a new destination in Darwin for Territorians to meet, spend time, hang out with family and friends, enjoy great food and be part of the community.
“This is the kind of investment that helps make the Territory a better place to live, work and raise a family, and truly enhances our unique Territory lifestyle.”
The fully enclosed, air-conditioned precinct has been designed as an all-weather destination, bringing food, entertainment and social experiences together in one convenient location.
The opening adds to Casuarina Square’s role as a major retail and community hub for Darwin and the Top End.
The Chief Minister also joined Kmart and The Salvation Army to launch the 2026 Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, which encourages people to place a new, unwrapped gift under a wishing tree at any Kmart store, or to make a financial contribution in store on online to help families in need.
A Salvation Army representative will collect the gifts oversee their distribution to those in need.
In 2025, more than 350,000 gifts were donated nationally through the Appeal, highlighting the generosity of customers and communities who continue to support people experiencing hardship.
“We know Christmas can be a challenging time for families experiencing financial hardship, and initiatives like this provide a simple but meaningful way for our community to come together and support those who need it most,” the Chief Minister said.
“People across the Territory have a strong tradition of looking out for one another, and the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is a wonderful example of that community spirit in action.”
