Around 1,000 trucks are set to make an eye-catching display this weekend as they drive 65 km from Larapinta to Redcliffe. Travelling a route that includes the Logan and Gateway motorways, these trucks are all part of the Brisbane Convoy for Kids and Truck Show event, on Saturday 2 November.
Convoy participants will then head to the Redcliffe Showgrounds to compete in a truck show, alongside a host of family-friendly activities, live music, fireworks and more.
The road freight industry is critical to keep goods and services moving across Queensland. And Transurban’s sponsorship of this event supports local trucking communities while also supporting fund-raising efforts for Hummingbird House Brisbane, Queensland’s first and only children’s hospice.
Our Transurban incident response team will assist the convoy as it makes its way along the Logan and Gateway motorways enroute to Redcliffe. Our Logan West Upgrade team will also be onsite at the Redcliffe Showgrounds from 9am to noon, ready to answer questions about this proposed project and to hear feedback.
About Convoy for Kids
The event, started by a local Logan truck driver, has raised more than $1 million over eleven convoys, providing funding support to children’s charities across South East Queensland.
The Truck Show will see some impressively decked-out trucks competing for awards in categories such as best decorated and best-dressed driver, with thousands joining in what promises to be a memorable day (and evening) out.
