Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Blackburn North tonight, 30 September.
It’s believed a child was struck by a vehicle in a carpark just off Springfield Road around 6.45pm.
Paramedics worked on the child, but the child was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to assist and is speaking with police.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.
