Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Mount Cottrell this morning.
It’s believed a Holden Commodore and a Holden Cruz collided on Faulkners Road just after 9am.
The driver of the Commodore, a 45-year-old Hoppers Crossing woman, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Cruz, a 42-year-old Tarneit woman, was flown to hospital with life-threatening-injuries where she sadly later died.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
