Feedback sought on quarry code of practice

Victoria’s Earth Resources Regulator has released a draft Code of Practice for Common Risk Management Techniques for Quarries for public consultation.

The 28-day consultation period is now underway on Engage Victoria, the Victorian Government’s online consultation platform, and closes on October 16.

Feedback received through the consultation will be vital to developing a Code of Practice that comprehensively and effectively addresses the unique challenges of managing risk in the quarrying sector.

The Code provides quarry operators with guidance to assist them in assessing, managing and mitigating low and medium risks when applying for approval for a new quarry or making significant changes to an existing operation.

Head to Engage Victoria to access a copy of the Code, find answers to commonly asked questions and to submit feedback by the due date.
