Treasurer, and failed minister, Michael Ferguson’s desperate attempt to cover up his broken budget isn’t fooling anyone.
The fact is, as the Revised Estimates Report itself notes (pp. 20-22), the creation of Homes Tasmania does not come close to explaining the $430 million of cuts the Treasurer tried to hide in the mid-year budget update.
Michael Ferguson either needs to be honest about where these cuts are coming from, or admit there’s a massive black hole in his budget.
More incompetent budget management is the last thing Tasmania needs when the Liberals have already driven Tasmania into record debt.
