Fernleigh Track users are advised that the section between Burwood Road, Kahibah and Station Street, Whitebridge will be closed from 7am-3:30pm Wednesday 9 September while asphalt works are carried out on the temporary detour path.
The detour was installed alongside the vandalised timber bridge to maintain access through the area while longer term planning for the bridge replacement continues. Investigations are continuing, including consideration of heritage requirements affecting a replacement bridge.
The asphalt will provide a safer, more durable surface for pedestrians and cyclists using the temporary route.
