Firearms, drugs, vehicles seized; man charged, NSW

A man has been charged following an investigation into firearm, drug supply and stolen vehicle offences in Sydney’s south.

In May 2022, officers attached to the Police Transport and Public Safety Command South West’s Proactive Crime team, commenced an investigation into alleged firearm, drug supply and stolen vehicle offences in the Wolli Creek area.

Following extensive inquiries, police executed a search warrant at an underground carpark on Brodie Sparks Drive, Wolli Creek, on Thursday 2 June 2022.

Police located and seized two pistols, vehicles believed to be stolen worth over $300,000, drugs, fraudulent identification material, and both NSW and interstate registration plates.

A 57-year-old man was arrested and taken to St George Police Station where he was charged with;

  • Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm
  • Possess unregistered firearm-pistol
  • Not keep firearm safely-pistol
  • Supply prohibited drug >indictable &
  • Possess prohibited drug (three counts) 2
  • Steal motor vehicle (two counts)
  • Knowingly possess identity plate not on correct vehicle (14 counts)
  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises – motor vehicle (four counts)
  • Possess identity info to commit etc indictable offence (two counts)
  • Dishonestly possess interfered with unique identifier (three counts)

He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Court yesterday (Friday 3 June 2022) where he was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 16 June 2022.
