Police have arrested a man following a firearms incident at Elizabeth South last night.
About 5pm on Sunday 21 June, a man and woman attended a home on Willison Road to receive payment for items they had sold. While at the home, an altercation occurred between the man and another man at the home, resulting in the male occupant producing a firearm.
As the couple left in their car, the man is reported to have fired shots with one projectile hitting the car as they drove off. Thankfully no one was injured.
Northern District police responded to the Elizabeth South home and intercepted the suspect leaving the home. He was subsequently arrested.
A search of the home was conducted with the assistance of STAR officers and Dog Operations with officers locating four gel blasters which were seized.
A 42-year-old man from Elizabeth South was arrested and charged with two counts of endangering life, discharging a firearm and aggravated assault. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
