Charles Darwin University Vice-Chancellor Scott Bowman appoints Administrator the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AO CVO to the role of Director of Advancement and Community Connections

Charles Darwin University has announced the appointment of the Hon Vicki O’Halloran AO CVO to the role of Director of Advancement and Community Connections.

Making the announcement today, Professor Scott Bowman AO, Vice-Chancellor and President praised Vicki’s outstanding credentials and enduring commitment to the Northern Territory.

“Vicki is one of the Northern Territory’s most esteemed individuals, having served as the 22nd Administrator of the Northern Territory from 2017 to early 2023 and prior to that holding senior governance and administration positions,” he said.

“Importantly for CDU, Vicki already has very close connections with the University as both an alumnus and member of the University Council. She embodies CDU’s vision of connectedness, and her personal values of inclusion, kindness and openness align with our university values. I am thrilled she will be joining us in this pivotal role.”

Before she was appointed Administrator of the Northern Territory, Vicki was Chief Executive Officer of Somerville Community Services.

She has been a member of various boards and committees locally and nationally.

Vicki was invested as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 2019 for her distinguished service to the people of the Northern Territory and to the disability sector.

In December 2022, Vicki was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) by His Majesty The King in recognition of her eminent service as Administrator of the Northern Territory during her five-year term.

Vicki holds a Bachelor of Children’s Services (from CDU) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Vicki said she was looking forward to commencing in the role.

“CDU is a fantastic university and one with the needs of the Territory front of mind,” she said.

“I am passionate about the contribution CDU can make, and it is a privilege to lead a team focused on building relationships that will support our university’s vision. I look forward to championing our Territory’s university locally, nationally and beyond.”

Vicki will be commencing in the role on 19 September 2023.
