A woman has been charged as part of ongoing investigations into alleged historic sexual assaults and student/teacher relationships on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
In July 2018, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Southwood to identify and investigate allegations of sexual assaults and student/teacher relationships at high schools on Sydney’s Northern Beaches in the 1970s and 1980s.
Following extensive investigations, a 67-year-old woman attended Burwood Police Station about 11am yesterday (Wednesday 11 November 2020).
She was charged with assault female and commit act of indecency (aged under 16 years), and two counts of assault female and commit act of indecency (aged between 14 and 16 years).
Police will allege in court that the woman sexually abused a female student, then aged between 15 and 17, between 1978 and 1980.
The Five Dock woman was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday 18 January 2021.
Investigations under Strike Force Southwood continue.
