Forum to explain plumbing permit online service

A new online application process making it quicker and more convenient to obtain Plumbing & Drainage Permits in the Armidale region will be explained at an information night for plumbing industry members.

Council will outline its new service at a free information night for all interested plumbers and associates, to be held at The Tops function room at Armidale City Bowling Club on Tuesday 18 June at 6-9pm.

“The online application system streamlines the whole submission and approval process and automates many steps, so permits for plumbing works can be obtained more quickly,” Council Chief Executive Officer Susan Law said.

“It’s also much more convenient for plumbers and other staff in the industry because it allows them to submit applications at any time and from anywhere they have internet access.

“A successful trial of the online applications was conducted with a number of local plumbers and the service is now available to all industry members looking to obtain a Plumbing & Drainage Permit.”

The information night will explain how plumbing industry members register for the online service and will step them through the application process.

It will also detail how the online option will assist plumbers and their clients.

In addition, the forum will reiterate plumbers’ responsibilities with Plumbing & Drainage Permits.

“Participants will also have plenty of opportunity to discuss other matters about the local plumbing industry,” Ms Law said.
