Mildura Rural City Council has four vacancies available to join our Disability Access Advisory Committee (DAAC).

Membership to the DAAC covers a three-year term, with the DAAC tasked with offering advice and guidance on priority accessibility needs of people with disabilities.

The groups also work in partnership with Council to improve access to services, programs and infrastructure for residents and visitors with disabilities across our municipality.

Most recently, the group has worked to install an adult change table at the Mildura Waves complex, while also improving access to various local wetlands.

The committee meets monthly, with local residents with disabilities, family members and carers from a range of backgrounds and experiences strongly encouraged to apply.

Preference will be given to those based along the Mallee Track to ensure the group is covering as much of the Mildura Local Government Area as possible.

Mayor Cr Liam Wood encouraged those interested to consider joining the DAAC and further add to the group’s amazing work.

“Being an open, inclusive and accessible municipality is really important,” he said.

“I absolutely encourage those interested, especially our all-abilities residents, to come forward and lend their voice to the DAAC.

“Your unique perspectives and experiences will help shape future decision-making and continue to ensure our community is accessible and inclusive for all.”
