Four men in court over kidnapping in Concord

Four men will face court today charged over allegedly kidnapping another man in Sydney’s inner west.

About 2pm yesterday (Friday 20 March 2020), police will allege four males assaulted a 39-year-old man and forced him into a Mercedes sedan on Salt Street, Concord.

A short time later, officers from Burwood Police Area Command were patrolling Burwood Road, Burwood, when they spotted the sedan heading towards Concord.

During a search of the vehicle, police located several items, including face masks, masking tape, surgical gloves, two knives and a hammer. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.

The men were taken to Burwood Police Station, where all four were charged with assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon, and take/detain person in company with intent to obtain advantage.

All four men have been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 21 March 2020).
