Fourth man charged after Kensington shooting

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have charged a fourth man following a fatal shooting in Kensington in March.

The 28-year-old Brunswick man, who presented at a police complex this morning, has today been charged with one count of attempted murder along with a number of other charges.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

The charges follow a shooting incident during a boxing event at a Racecourse Road venue on Friday 1 March about 10pm.

A 30-year-old Craigieburn man died at the scene after being shot, while a 34-year-old from Lalor and 32-year-old from Craigieburn were both taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.

Two of the men already charged in relation to the shooting, a 27-year-old Brunswick man and a 25-year-old Pascoe Vale man, were arrested in Bankstown, NSW on 8 March and subsequently extradited to Victoria.

The third man charged, a 26-year-old Coburg man, is currently in a correctional facility for unrelated matters.

Detectives are no longer seeking anyone else in relation to the investigation.
