ANZ delivers on $10 billion commitment to support affordable, accessible and sustainable housing

ANZ Bank

ANZ today announced it has delivered on its commitment to fund and facilitate $10 billion of investment to support affordable, accessible and sustainable housing across Australia and New Zealand, ahead of its 2030 target.

Established in 2021, the commitment reflects ANZ’s long-term focus on supporting housing outcomes through partnerships with community housing providers, developers, institutional investors and government-backed initiatives.

By supporting customers to develop and scale innovative housing models, the commitment helped bring to market a range of housing solutions, including build-to-rent-to-own developments, specialist disability accommodation, and social housing projects.

Together, these initiatives have created new pathways into housing for people living with disability, households seeking affordable and social housing support, and those pursuing alternative pathways to home ownership.

ANZ Managing Director, Corporate Finance, Credit and Capital Management, Kevin Corbally said: “Addressing housing challenges requires new approaches that can be scaled to meet the needs of different people and communities. This milestone demonstrates what’s possible when customers, investors, government and industry work together to bring those solutions to market.”

“While this milestone is important, continued investment, innovation and collaboration will be critical to expanding housing options for future generations. We remain committed to supporting customers focused on improving housing outcomes for communities,” he said.

ANZ General Manager, Institutional Loan Product & Delivery, Michelle Sichlau said: “We’ve seen strong demand from customers looking to challenge traditional approaches to housing and develop innovative solutions to housing needs in our communities. By providing tailored financing solutions, we’re helping turn those ideas into investable, scalable projects that deliver meaningful outcomes.”
