Fraud and counterfeit money charges, Bracken Ridge

Carseldine Detectives have charged a man and a woman, dismantling a sophisticated fraud syndicate with links to the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), operating within the North Brisbane District.

Police will allege that a 31-year-old Bracken Ridge man, a patched member of the Bandidos OMCG and a 27-year-old Bracken Ridge woman were producing counterfeit currency and identification from their home address.

Yesterday (November 4) detectives executed a search warrant at the Bracken Ridge address allegedly resulting in the location of counterfeit currency, counterfeit identification, equipment for production of counterfeit currency and identification, mobile phones used in the commission of these offences, along with methylamphetamine, anabolic steroids, weapons and gang paraphernalia.

It will be further alleged that several members of the public’s identification documentation have been used for fraud.

A 31-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have been conjointly charged with 21 counts of obtaining or dealing with identification information, seven counts of forgery, three counts of possession of dangerous drugs, one count each of fraud, possessing counterfeit money, uttering counterfeit money, possess thing with intent to forge documents, possess utensils, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and unlawful possession of weapons.

Both are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

This investigation is continuing, and detectives would like to speak with anyone with relevant information to contact police.
