Free Fitness Tutorials accompany New Exercise Stations on Nightcliff Foreshore

City of Darwin has launched a series of free on-line fitness tutorials to accompany the six new outdoor exercise stations located on the Nightcliff Foreshore. The tutorials can be accessed on mobile phones through QR codes displayed on each exercise station.

The tutorials feature local fitness trainer Stephanie Jeanes, director of Juggernaut Fitness, and show a variety of ways to use each of the 27 new pieces of exercise equipment.

“The new equipment caters for a range of ages and abilities,” said Stephanie “and when used in conjunction with the tutorials, will provide a thorough and safe workout.”

“Using the equipment and accessing the tutorials is free and with the bonus of overlooking the Arafura Sea, there is a real incentive to exercise,” Stephanie concluded.

The six stations provide opportunities for seated exercise and controlled range of movement, giving options for all members of the community to exercise safely.

“City of Darwin has provided new exercise equipment for the community, delivering what the community asked for in a recent consultation.” said Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis.

“Nightcliff Foreshore now features more outdoor exercise equipment, offering more variety and larger exercise spaces.”

“Anyone with a passion for keeping fit and healthy will really enjoy using the new equipment in conjunction with the ‘how to’ tutorials.”

The upgrade of Nightcliff Foreshore Exercise Equipment cost $200,000, with 27 new pieces of exercise equipment installed at 6 locations between Sunset Park (Nightcliff Jetty) and Rapid Creek bridge; all available for use by the community for free, at any time.
