Free Welcome to Summer community day returns to Orange Aquatic Centre

Orange City Council’s Welcome to Summer community day returns to Orange Aquatic Centre on Sunday 19 November.

Orange City Council’s Sport and Recreation Community Committee Chair, Cr Tammy Greenhalgh said last year’s event was a huge success, with about 1000 people enjoying the day.

“The Welcome to Summer community day at the aquatic centre is such a popular event and I encourage residents to take advantage of the free entry and come along for a great day of fun at the pool. What better way to celebrate the upcoming summer,” Cr Greenhalgh said.

Visitors to the pool can enjoy free entry between 8am and 7pm.

FUN IN THE SUN: The popular inflatables will be operating free of charge on the day.

The Orange Aquatic Swim Club is taking charge of a sizzling good time with a free sausage sizzle from noon to 2:30pm.

Weather permitting, the Aquatic Centre’s inflatables, along with the one-metre and three-metre springboards, are ready for pool patrons to make a splash all day long at no extra cost, just pure aquatic fun.

“If you’re aged six years or older and can breeze through a swim test, you’re officially part of the party on the inflatables. Young people aged 6 to 11 must have a ‘Supervision Sidekick’, a responsible adult to keep an eye out on the pool deck, in sight and ready to join the water

fun,” Cr Greenhalgh said

“Let’s keep it cool and sun safe. Slather on that sunscreen, rock those shades and, for the kids aged 11 and under, make sure there’s a responsible adult keeping watch.”

The Orange Aquatic Centre is located on the corner of Hill and Warrendine streets.
