Freshwater Road Tree Removal near Jingli Water Gardens

Darwin City Council

City of Darwin is removing two Mahogany trees located within the verge of Freshwater Road, in front of the Jingili Water Gardens.

The trees are close to powerlines that feed the Royal Darwin Hospital and surrounding areas and present a risk to public safety as they recently dropped some limbs.

The removal is scheduled for 11 – 12 May and will require traffic diversions as well as temporary diversion of the power lines.

City of Darwin will coordinate with Power Water on the removal of the trees

City of Darwin is committed to keeping our city cool and green and will be replacing the mahoganies with shade trees .

City of Darwin has planted more than 12,500 trees since Cyclone Marcus in March 2018.
