Front-end loader used to help steal car at Parkhurst, QLD

Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen from a towing yard at Parkhurst around the morning of Sunday, May 15.

Investigations indicate that at around 5.40am, a man has driven a front-end loader, stolen from another Parkhurst business earlier that night, through the front gate of the Leichhardt Street business.

The man then utilized the loader to push a stationary tow truck away from a group of vehicles.

The man then exited the loader and set fire to it, before entering one of the nearby vehicles, a 2017 Grey Holden Commadore sedan with rego plates 038YSG.

The man has then fled the scene in the vehicle.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen either the loader or Holden vehicle in the area around the time of the incident, or may have CCTV, to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
