Are you planning a major event or festival that will attract visitors, support the local economy and showcase the MidCoast?
Applications are now open for MidCoast Council’s General Events and Festivals funding program, with grants of up to $10,000 available to help bring eligible events to life.
Applications are open from Monday 3 August to Monday 31 August 2026.
The program supports large-scale events and festivals that draw visitors to the region, create opportunities for local businesses and bring people together.
Last year’s funding round supported events including the NSW Triathlon Club Championships, the Taree and District Eisteddfod, and the Harrington Festival and Fireworks on John Gollan Day.
“Events and festivals make an important contribution to the MidCoast economy and the life of our communities,” said Executive Manager Sustainable Development, Rachel Pleasant.
“They bring visitors into our towns, support local businesses and give people another reason to experience everything our region has to offer.”
This funding round is for large-scale events and festivals taking place between 1 January and 30 June 2027. A separate funding round for smaller community events will open in February 2027.
Applications for Council’s 2027 NAIDOC Week and Youth Week funding programs will also open on Monday 3 August and close on Monday 14 September 2026.
Funding of up to $4,000 is available for inclusive, whole-of-community NAIDOC Week events planned and delivered by a NAIDOC Planning Committee. NAIDOC Week is celebrated in the first week of July.
Youth Week is celebrated in April, with funding of up to $3,000 available to support young people to design and deliver activities and events for their communities.
These funding programs are delivered under Council’s Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy.
