Further charges after Tarneit stabbing

Two youths have been charged following an alleged armed robbery and stabbing in Tarneit last week.

Westgate Alliance Taskforce detectives have now charged a total of three people in relation to the incident.

Investigators have been told two youths were approached by seven to eight males on Bayden Powell Drive, Tarneit on Thursday 27 July about 6pm.

It’s alleged an altercation occurred and the youths were stabbed a number of times before the offenders left the scene.

The victims were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the alleged offenders were last seen in a dark coloured vehicle.

Officers from the Westgate Alliance Taskforce executed a warrant in Weir Views on Monday and arrested two 16-year-old boys.

The two boys, one from Weir Views and one from Bellbird Park in Queensland, have since been charged with armed robbery, assault with weapon, recklessly cause serious injury, affray, robbery and cannabis possession.

They have both been remanded to appear at a children’s court.

These latest arrests follow the arrest of a 20-year-old man last week who was also charged with similar offences.
