Further two teenagers charged over Pyrmont stabbing, NSW

A further two teenagers have been charged over the alleged stabbing of a man at Pyrmont last week.

Just before 10.50pm on Friday (31 July 2020), police were called to the intersection of Pyrmont Bridge Road and Wattle Streets, after reports of an assault.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and found a 36-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his face.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he underwent surgery, however he lost an eye as a result of the incident and remains in a critical condition.

Police have been told the man was injured while being assaulted by a group of up to 10 males.

Following inquiries, three teenagers aged 15, 17 and 18 were arrested on Saturday (1 August 2020) and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

They remain before the courts.

Just before 1pm yesterday (Sunday 2 August 2020), investigators arrested two 16-year-old boys at a home in Marsfield.

They were taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The teens were refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.

Investigations continue.
