GBH charge upgraded to murder at Park Ridge South, QLD

A man arrested over the alleged serious assault of a 61-year-old man at Stoney Camp Road at Park Ridge South on September 29, has had his charge upgraded to murder.

Emergency crews were called at approximately 7.30pm following reports a man had been struck in the head, causing him to fall to the ground, where he was allegedly struck multiple times.

During the incident, the man suffered serious head injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

A crime scene was declared at the incident location, and a 33-year-old Park Ridge South man was located nearby and charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

Sadly, the 61-year-old man died more than a week later, on October 10.

He is expected to appear before Beenleigh Court today where his charges will be upgraded to murder.
