Geoscience agency presents to minerals industry branch

The Geological Survey of Victoria’s Rob Duncan made a presentation to the Victorian Branch of the AusIMM during its annual general meeting yesterday.

Minerals exploration expenditure in Victoria has increased at unprecedented rates compared with other parts of the nation, driven by the ultra-high gold grades at depth in the Fosterville deposit of central Victoria’s Bendigo Zone.

At the meeting, Dr Duncan outlined how our understanding the formation of orogenic gold systems in the Bendigo Zone has evolved through the research efforts of the Geological Survey of Victoria, Geoscience Australia, industry and academia.
