Got food business? You can now register and change details online

Starting up a food business or changing your business’ details? There is now an easy and convenient way to get registered, your details updated and ready to trade.

From 6 June 2022, all new food and mobile food business in the Kempsey Shire must register with Council through our online Applicant Portal. Existing businesses that need to update their details such as the business address and owner names, must also use the online Applicant Portal.

The portal has been created to make a seamless and stress-free registration process for food business owners.

Does my business need to register?

If you wish to operate any of the following businesses, you will need to register:

  • cafe or restaurant
  • supermarket
  • convenience store
  • delicatessen
  • takeaway outlet
  • mobile food vendor, food truck or temporary food stall
  • ancillary food business
  • home based food business
  • water carters
  • school canteen.

You must also register if you are starting a children’s service, including daycare or childcare where food is provided, or you are a manufacturer, distributer, caterer or importer who sells directly to the final consumer.
