With the New South Wales grains industry facing increased challenges to farm profitability each year, growers are urged to stay informed of the latest research and development ‘answers’ by attending the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) 2019 Grains Research Updates.

Soil constraints and how to fix them; seasonal climate updates; managing hard-to-control weeds; and agronomic research into time of sowing, targeted nutrition and decisions and options for the coming spring will be among the many topics addressed at the upcoming Updates.

The Grains Research Updates are premier events on the NSW grains industry calendar, bringing together some of Australia’s leading grain research scientists, agronomists, consultants and growers.

GRDC Grower Relations Manager – North Richard Holzknecht said topics for the Updates were determined by local planning committees and comprised regionally relevant, credible and science-based information that was practical and ready for on-farm adoption.

“It is critical that we continue to raise the bar when it comes to delivering research and development (R&D) that has the potential to make a tangible difference to growers’ bottom lines,” Mr Holzknecht said.

“The GRDC invest millions of dollars annually on behalf of growers to ensure that this happens and that R&D is focused on critical areas such as productivity constraints and ground-breaking developments in agricultural technology.

“The Updates provide the ideal forum for the sharing of this research which, coupled with growers’ learning, ideas and networking, creates the platform for successful and effective change.”

The GRDC Grains Research Updates will be held on:
