Grant opportunity: Urban Rivers and Catchments Program

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

Grant guidelines for the Urban Rivers and Catchments Program 2023 grant opportunity are now available.

Ahead of the grants opening in late November, read the guidelines to find out how you can apply.

We have committed up to $109 million towards projects that bring life back to our rivers, creeks, wetlands and waterways.

This includes:

  • $51 million to fund small to medium-scale project grants of between $150,000 and $2 million for community-led projects
  • $58 million to fund larger-scale projects of between $2 million and $10 million for projects that include co-investment.

Nearly half of all nationally listed threatened animals and a quarter of threatened plants are found in urban areas, which they share with 96% of Australia’s population.

The Urban Rivers and Catchments Program is restoring the health of our urban waterways for native animals, plants, and local communities.

Read the guidelines and prepare your application on the business.gov.au website.
