A new grant from the Territory Labor Government will mean this year more people will have the opportunity to celebrate International Day of People with Disability.
Applications are now open for community organisations and local businesses to organise celebrations for International Day of People with Disability on 3 December.
Grants of up to $5,000 are on offer for all-inclusive events, activities and initiatives that will take place between 24 November and 10 December 2023. A total of $50,000 is available. Activities funded under the new grants could include art workshops and exhibitions, inclusive events, sports ‘come and try’ days, or resources that celebrate and promote the day and support the vision outlined in the Northern Territory Disability Strategy.
The strategy aims to address the barriers to equality, accessibility and inclusion experienced by Territorians with a disability.
