Hardship payments welcomed for storm-impacted residents

City of Logan residents affected by severe thunderstorms can access financial assistance from the Queensland and Australian governments.

Logan City Council has welcomed joint Commonwealth-State funding made available to residents impacted by this week’s severe thunderstorms.

Financial assistance and support services include emergency hardship assistance grants of up to $180 per person and $900 for a family of five or more.

Eligible suburbs include Cedar Creek, Cedar Grove, Cedar Vale, Flagstone, Glenlogan, Jimboomba, Kairabah, Mundoolun, Riverbend, Tamborine, Veresdale, Veresdale Scrub, Woodhill and Yarrabilba.

Council is in ongoing contact with the Queensland Government and has requested this list be extended to include additional suburbs impacted by the storms.

The Personal Hardship Assistance Grants are funded as part of joint Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
