The Northern Territory’s largest celebration of cultural diversity and harmony, the Darwin Waterfront Harmony Soiree will be held today from 4-9pm.
There will be more than 15 community cultural stalls which will showcase their rich cultural heritage, along with 25 cultural groups performing.
The Territory Labor Government has provided $30,000 in funding to multicultural groups to participate, including $21,000 to Darwin Community Arts to coordinate the performance, as part of the 2021-22 Harmony Grants.
The event, which began in 2011, is organised by Territory Families, Housing and Communities’ Office of Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with the Darwin Waterfront Corporation, the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory and Darwin Community Arts.
It brings together multicultural and community groups to showcase the Top End’s cultural diversity through entertainment, food and cultural items, while promoting social inclusion and cohesion.
