HAVE YOUR SAY ON A PLACE NAME IN GOULBURN-MULWAREE LGA

The Geographical Names Board is seeking community feedback on a proposal by Goulburn-Mulwaree Council to name a reserve in the suburb of Goulburn as Goulburn Rotary Park.

Chair of the Geographical Names Board Narelle Underwood said feedback is being sought on the proposal to name Goulburn Rotary Park.

“It is important that place names reflect the character and history of the local area and community,” Mrs Underwood said.

“We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to provide their feedback on the proposed name.”

Currently part of Marsden Weir Park, council propose to rename the area of the reserve from the gates of the weir to Crookwell Road, leaving the remainder of the reserve named as Marsden Weir Park.

The proposed name seeks to acknowledge the years of contribution to the infrastructure the Rotary Club of Goulburn has made to the reserve and the wider community.

Details of the proposal can also be viewed and submissions lodged on the Geographical Names Board’s website.
