Have your say on future of Region

What kind of a future do you want for the Toowoomba Region?

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Planning and Development Committee Chair Cr Megan O’Hara Sullivan said Council was seeking further public input into Toowoomba Region Futures.

“Our Region is growing and changing. We have an opportunity to plan for growth, to have more choice in where and how we live, where we work, study and play, and how we move around,” she said.

“The Toowoomba Region Futures is a program designed to help shape growth and development in our Region for the next 30 years. This is a chance for our community to ensure our Region remains a great place to live now and for future residents.”

TRC Planning and Development Committee portfolio lead Cr Bill Cahill said, “This ambitious program will build on the Region’s liveability by considering appropriate form and location of development, demand on services to ensure infrastructure goes into the right areas at the right time, provision of green space, and protecting environmental and cultural places.

“We want locals to be part of driving these conversations Public feedback is being sought during October and November for the draft Design Framework (Talking Towns), the implementation of Green Infrastructure in the planning scheme and the draft Growth Plan.”
