Helping South Australians transition into employment

An Employment Facilitator has been appointed in the Upper Spencer Gulf to help South Australians looking for work or training opportunities.

Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash said that Employment Facilitators will play a critical role in our economic recovery.

“I am pleased to announce that Ms Lisa Brock has been appointed as the successful Employment Facilitator for the region,” Minister Cash said.

Employment Facilitators work with local jobactive providers, employers and training organisations to ensure local job seekers have the skills they need to re-enter the workforce and provide them with opportunities for retraining and further education.

Member for Grey, Mr Rowan Ramsey MP, said as we face the challenge of COVID-19 pandemic it’s important than ever before that the services of Employment Facilitators are available to help find local solutions to local labour market challenges.

“Our Employment Facilitator has specific experience and knowledge relevant to our region which will help connect job seekers to businesses that need workers,” Mr Ramsey said.

“Those within our region are best placed to find solutions and I welcome Ms Lisa Brock as she helps to connect local jobseekers to employment.”

Employment Facilitators have extensive networks across their region and can focus on where there are points of potential collaboration and partnership between stakeholders to create approaches that improve employment outcomes.
