Helping Territorians kick start their careers

NT Government

The Northern Territory Government has a range of opportunities now available for graduates, new trainees and Territorians seeking vacation employment to kick start their careers.

The NT Public Sector’s Early Career Program opened for applications today.

Territorians can now apply for the 2024 Graduate Development Program, a full time traineeship, and the Vacation Employment Program.

In support of the application process, the Territory Labor Government has launched a new streamlined Early Careers Website, which is a one stop shop for all program-related information, advice on the application process and opportunities available.

The last Graduate Development Program attracted more than 400 applications for 53 placements, so the website ensures all potential applicants have easy access to everything they need at their fingertips.

Graduates can be placed throughout the public service in professions such as Business, Law, Community Services, Engineering Civil Construction, Social Work, Communications and Marketing.

Justin Mohay joined the NT Government as a Master of Cybersecurity Analysis graduate from Macquarie University through the Graduate Program.

He was then selected under a Graduate Excellence Program for rotations across multiple agencies.

Applications for the 2024 graduate opportunities close on 14 May, 2023 and placements will commence in January 2024.

The Early Careers Program also includes traineeships that will commence from July 2023 with applications closing on 30 April, and vacation employment commencing in July 2023 with applications closing on 16 April.

The Vacation Employment program is a pathway into the Graduate Development Program.
