High Range Drink Driver Detected

Police have charged a 35-year-old Queenstown woman with high range drink driving after she was detected driving over four times the legal alcohol limit today.

Police observed the woman driving erratically in Queenstown before intercepting her for a breath test. The woman underwent breath analysis at the Queenstown Police Station, returning a reading of .202%.

The woman has been charged with exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and driving under the influence. She was also immediately disqualified from driving for 12 months and will appear in court at a later date.

Police would like to remind people of the dangers of drink driving and will continue to target unsafe drivers on our roads.
