The Territory Labor Government is investigating key land parcels to support further population growth.
We are investing $1.1 million this year to further work on land use planning, land investigations, concept planning and the design of enabling infrastructure.
This includes making more than 5000 new residential lots available for the creation of new suburbs.
To make sure we have positive growth which keeps up with demand, the Territory Labor Government has released three packages of land investigating works which include, engineering, surveying and geotechnical investigations.
This procurement is focussed on progressing Greater Holtze, including early investigations for the Coolalinga and Freds Pass Rural Activity Centre in its early stages. The tenders investigate:
– developing the overarching plans that will enable the development of Greater Holtze area and the Coolalinga / Freds Pass Rural Activity Centre;
– connecting Coolalinga to Palmerston’s sewer network;
– costings for new roads, water mains, electrical transmission and drainage within the new Greater Holtze area; and
– efficient and cost-effective delivery of enabling infrastructure that is consistent with the objectives and planning for the Coolalinga and Freds Pass Rural Activity Centre.
It is essential that the delivery of the first land release takes into consideration the potential future service requirements of the Greater Holtze area to allow infrastructure to be delivered in an efficient manner.
Currently the Northern Territory Planning Commission is finalising the Holtze to Elizabeth River Subregional Land Use Plan, which will be a plan for the long-term, identifying and confirming strategic corridors for main roads, rail and utilities, and shaping the pattern of future land uses.
