Home invasion, assault, NSW

Police are investigating a home invasion and assault on the Central Coast overnight.

About 2.30am (Saturday 29 December 2018), three men forced entry to a home on Banks Close at Bateau Bay with their faces concealed and armed with a machete.

The group threatened the occupants, a 32-year-old woman and 29-year-old man, forcing them to the ground while they searched the property.

They fled with mobile phones, cash and jewellery. The occupants weren’t injured during the incident.

A short time later a 17-year-old male walking along nearby Woodside Court was assaulted by a man armed with a baseball bat.

It’s believed the armed man was also involved in the home invasion.

Police were alerted to both incidents and officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and commenced inquiries.

They’re appealing for public assistance to identify and locate those involved.

The men are all described as being of Middle Eastern / Mediterranean appearance and between 175cm and 180cm tall.
