Home invasion at Bankstown, NSW

An investigation is underway following a home invasion in Sydney’s south west overnight.

About 12.40am (Wednesday 30 September 2020), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a unit on Meredith Street, Bankstown, after reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told four unknown men forced entry into the unit after a resident answered a knock at the front door.

The men threatened the two female residents with a firearm and knife. The group stole alcohol and cash, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

The women and a baby – aged 56, 22 and two months – were not physically injured.

A crime scene was established, which has been forensically examined by specialist police.
