Honouring Life Of Harold Mitchell AC

VIC Premier

A State Memorial Service to celebrate the remarkable life of philanthropist and media industry icon Harold Mitchell AC will be held at 10:30am on Monday, 13 May at Hamer Hall in Melbourne.

Registrations to attend the memorial, taking place on what would have been his 82nd birthday, are open from 9:00am on Monday, 15 April and registration is free.

Harold Mitchell’s influence in shaping Australia’s modern media and advertising industry is unmatched, but his success in business was always driven by a desire to give to others.

Through the Harold Mitchell Foundation, he gave wholeheartedly to arts, sport, health, and education, both in Australia and abroad.

As a generous fan of the arts, Harold Mitchell contributed to the Malthouse Theatre, Opera Australia, National Gallery of Australia, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Museums Victoria, and the New York Philharmonic.

Family, friends, colleagues and members of the public are invited to attend to recognise the impact of Harold’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harold Mitchell’s name to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation via donate.acrf.com.au/fundraisers/HM

The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.

Further details about the service, including how to register, are available at vic.gov.au/HaroldMitchell

As stated by Premier Jacinta Allan
