As we work together with our community to create an even better future for our Shire, Council is committed to continuously improving our service delivery. As part of this, we’re implementing recommendations from the Corporate Relations Service Review, including undertaking a fresh approach to communicating and engaging with our community that provides timely access to information and opportunities to get involved in decision-making.
Other priorities for the 2023/24 financial year include finalising a review of our Council’s insurance membership to ensure that we are adequately covered. In addition, preparations are being made for the September 2024 local Government elections, including the development of a comprehensive Councillor induction program.
Danielle Lidgard, Manager Governance and Corporate Performance for Wingecarribee Shire Council said, “We introduced a yearly internal audit program which is a critical component of our governance framework.”
Our commitment to safety as always remains a top priority, and we will continue to implement actions to comply with the SafeWork NSW Enforceable Undertaking. Additionally, we will be leading the preparation of Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents to set and deliver on the future direction of the Shire.
Finally, we will be developing and facilitating a program of service reviews, including a review of waste and resource management and water services.
We believe that these initiatives will position us to better engage with and serve our community as we work together to achieve our shared vision for Wingecarribee Shire.
