HSF advises Cellnex on its sales of 3,200 sites in France to Phoenix Tower International

International leading law firm Herbert Smith Freehills advises Cellnex, Europe’s leading operator of wireless telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructures, on the agreements relating to the sale of c. 3,200 telecommunications sites in very dense areas in France to Phoenix Tower International, a Blackstone portfolio company.

Phoenix Tower International will acquire from Cellnex 1,226 telecommunications sites in very dense areas in France. In the context of a joint-venture with Bouygues Telecom, Phoenix Tower International will also acquire from Cellnex 2,000 telecommunications sites in very dense areas in France.

These transactions remain subject to the obtaining of regulatory approvals.

The agreements entered into with Phoenix Tower International as well as with its joint venture partner Bouygues Telecom will allow Cellnex to meet the conditions required by the French Competition Authority in connection with the approval of the acquisition of Hivory last October.
